Data Scientist Specialist
Invisible Technologies is seeking a Data Scientist Specialist to design and deliver machine learning solutions that blend cutting-edge research with practical deployment across industries and use cases. The role focuses on tackling challenging problems in computer vision and building robust models that power client-facing tools and internal platforms.
Key responsibilities include developing end-to-end computer vision models using deep learning architectures (YOLO, optical flow, ResNet) tailored to complex visual data pipelines and novel problem domains, collaborating with software engineers and data scientists to integrate research-driven models into deployable systems for dynamic production environments, working closely with external stakeholders to frame ambiguous problems and translate technical insights into impactful results, leading exploration and analysis of large datasets using tools like Pandas, NumPy, and Spark to inform model design and evaluate performance under realistic constraints, and identifying when state-of-the-art ideas can be adapted and productionized for specific problem domains.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building computer vision models using modern deep learning techniques
- Proven ability to take models from prototype to production in Python-based workflows
- Experience working in client-facing roles or directly engaging with stakeholders to refine project requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and commonly used ML/data libraries (Pandas, NumPy, PyTorch, etc.)
- Familiarity with core computer vision tools and model types (YOLO, ResNet, segmentation models, optical flow, etc.)
- Experience working with large-scale datasets using distributed tools such as Spark
- Comfort navigating cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or similar); Databricks experience is a plus
- Solid grasp of experimental design, model evaluation, and data debugging practices
- Strong code hygiene with ability to write clean, modular, testable code in collaborative environments
- Must be independent consultant/contractor who runs/operates their own business
- Must pass interview as part of contracting process
- Bonus: Familiarity with MLOps practices, experience with multi-model systems or pipelines
Benefits
- Hourly pay range of $35-$50 per hour based on experience, expertise, and geographic location
- Contractor/consultant position offering flexibility and independence
- Opportunity to work across diverse industries and use cases
- Exposure to cutting-edge computer vision research and practical deployment
- Collaboration with software engineers and data scientists in dynamic production environments
- Client-facing work with external stakeholders on impactful projects
- Work with large-scale datasets and modern cloud environments
- Research-driven innovation opportunities
- Note: As contractor position, candidates must supply secure computer and high-speed internet; company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply
Important:
