About the Role

The Frontend Engineer role exists to ensure our gaming platform delivers exceptional user experiences through seamless, responsive, and visually compelling interfaces. This position directly impacts user engagement and platform reliability by maintaining and enhancing the frontend systems that serve our global chess community. The role is critical to our mission of providing the best possible digital experience for chess enthusiasts worldwide.

As a key member of our Engineering team, this role bridges the gap between design vision and technical implementation, ensuring that our platform remains scalable, performant, and user-friendly across all devices and browsers. The Frontend Engineer will contribute to both immediate tactical improvements and long-term strategic platform evolution.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement frontend features and user interfaces through a combination of design principles, technology expertise, and programming to ensure seamless platform experiences
  • Maintain and optimize system performance by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving bugs and performance issues in production environments
  • Collaborate closely with design and development teams to translate mockups, wireframes, and user requirements into functional, responsive web applications
  • Build and maintain component-based architectures using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks to ensure scalable and maintainable codebases
  • Create pixel-perfect design implementations that are fully responsive and optimized for performance across multiple devices and browsers
  • Participate actively in code reviews, pull requests, and technical discussions to maintain code quality standards and share knowledge across the team
  • Execute frontend development projects from conception through deployment, ensuring adherence to established coding standards and best practices
  • Support platform stability by monitoring frontend performance, addressing user-reported issues, and implementing proactive improvements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to deliver integrated solutions that meet business objectives
