Product Designer
Mimeo.com is seeking a dynamic Product Designer to join our team and help craft user-centered, visually compelling, and functional products for our products in the Labels & Packaging business. You will play a key role in shaping the user experience, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and bringing innovative ideas to life through informed product design. The ideal candidate will already have experience in the packaging space, bringing technical know-how of packaging concepts, processes, and trends to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Marketing, and key business stakeholders to align product design with company vision and business objectives.
- Develop and refine 3D preview models and parametric sizing models to enhance product visualization.
- Configure and implement new products within our front-end platform, leveraging JSON scripting to customize and optimize product displays.
- Conduct thorough testing of new product features and releases, ensuring functionality, usability, and a seamless customer experience.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on our Labels & Packaging e-commerce platform (currently Infigo), understanding its capabilities, constraints, and opportunities for innovation.
- Become an expert in ensuring accurate product specifications, pricing, and outsourcing workflows.
- Lead customer research initiatives, gathering insights to drive intuitive, user-centered design solutions.
- Plan and execute usability testing, iterating designs based on user feedback and data-driven insights.
- Stay ahead of packaging industry trends, emerging tools, and best practices to continuously enhance product design and user experience.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Ideally, experience as a Product Designer in the Packaging industry or a similar role.
- Portfolio: Strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking, problem-solving abilities, and innovative solutions.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Blender 3D (or similar modelling software), and Adobe Creative Cloud suite. JSON Scripting and editing skills
- User-Centric Approach: Experience conducting user research, usability testing and applying data-driven design improvements.
- Design Expertise: Strong understanding of interaction design, visual design principles, and typography.
- Collaboration: Experience working within Agile or cross-functional teams, contributing effectively to multidisciplinary projects.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly to stakeholders.
