The role of a Bookkeeper/Admin Assistant at BruntWork
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly reconciliations across multiple business entities, ensuring accurate financial records for each
- Separate and allocate shared expenses such as utilities across the appropriate business accounts
- Follow up with late-paying tenants and self-storage customers via phone calls, emails, and text messages
- Prepare end-of-month and end-of-year financial close-outs for all business entities
- Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of outstanding payments
- Handle general administrative tasks including email correspondence and document management
Requirements:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial reconciliation across multiple accounts or entities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for tenant and customer follow-ups
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Familiarity with cloud-based or remote-access business software
Scope:
- Support bookkeeping operations across a shipping business, self-storage facility, and property management company
- Ensure each business entity maintains clean, separated, and up-to-date financial records
- Act as a remote administrative extension of the business owner, handling delegated back-end tasks
- Coordinate tenant payment follow-ups including sending late notices and tracking outstanding balances
- Assist with transitioning workflows to new remote software platforms as needed
